How We Do It
First, we thoroughly discuss the model with our client. The model is ordered in line with either the clients or our original drawings. If no such drawings are available, we can use photos or other ship-related documents to draw exact sketches and prepare drawings.
We follow closely the ships’ original history age to produce an authentically reconstructed vessel. The number of details can often add up to 3000. The construction materials we use match the ships historic times: oak, pear, bronze, hemp, lead and others.
Next, its time to decide on the scale and the construction materials for the production of the various parts. If the client has photos and detailed drawings, this is a definite advantage, facilitating the model makers work. Certainly, we boast a huge library of drawings and designs, but The Client is the One who has a say in how his ship will look like!
Finally, we give an approximate date of model completion and request an advance payment.
The rest is long hours of hard work!
